Gord has been privileged to minister in many cities in South Korea over the past three years, however this was the first opportunity to offer a Set Free (bondage breaking to destiny) weekend in this nation. Over this time, he has been humbled by the fervour for prayer and hunger for more of Holy Spirit consistently demonstrated by Korean believers. It has been 100 years since the Great Revival in Northern Korea, and many churches are expecting and praying for another strong move of the Lord in 2007. Yes Lord…come!
Gord was joined by leaders of the New Life Church Healing Gate team, worship leader and teacher Doug Howe, and ministry team and teachers Hal and Katherine Welwood. For three consecutive nights, the people broke into spontaneous worship, which continued for over an hour. Shouting, weeping, laughter and repentance occurred simultaneously. It was wonderful – many witnessed to seeing three angels moving through the crowd – a white mist fell on the room and more repentance and deliverance followed.
When the team began the teaching on renouncing ungodly vows, several pastors prepared the way by being the first to renounce their vows. Over the next two hours, the people stood and came forward and boldly renounced their personal vows. Many wept while they struggled to speak out their vows, but they persevered until well into the night.
Psalms 133
How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down upon the collar of his robes. It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.
On the last evening many pastors came up to the front and danced together, which was an incredible show of unity for the many denominations that were represented. The team had sharp and accurate prophetic words throughout the four days and many were of the participants were richly blessed. Their was a tremendous response to every teaching/ministry step and the floor was continually covered with people out in the spirit or receiving deliverance or healing.
On the final night, Doug’s worship led seamlessly into a time of blessing. The instrumental track from “The Blessing” CD was played while the the Pastor and his wife read the Mother and Father’s blessing from the translated script. It was extremely moving to hear the sounds of weeping as the words of blessing ministered deeply into the hearts and spirits of the people. The weekend concluded with with communion and prayer for an impartation of the Holy Spirit to remain on the gathering and bless each one. Again the Spirit fell and prayer for the people continued for another hour.
From Katherine:
The response to all the steps was incredible. However, I was not prepared to see so much rejection. I know from personal experience the damage that living in rejection does and I felt compelled to share my own story of how I was delivered from self-hatred. When I asked those to whom it applied to pray a prayer with me, I was shocked to see the number of people who responded.
The other thing that moved me immensely was the level of pain being released from the women - deep, heart wrenching pain. I simply held many women while they received ministry. I think of all the Set Free’s that I have participated in, this was the deepest pain I have seen, but I believe that Jesus moved deeply in the hearts of the women.
I also found that the women press in hard after God during worship; however the men were far more reserved. Once my husband Hal shared about his own reluctance to be vulnerable with God the men became much more responsive. I was very impressed with the Pastors, especially as, contrary to their culture, they were first to publicly renounce their negative vows. After renouncing his vows, one particular leader was joined by his grown son who tenderly leaned his head on his father’s shoulder. The pastor reached up and simply sat with his hand on his son’s face. A very tender moment, that touched me deeply and later both Gord and I were able to prophesy over the Pastor.
To my surprise, I very much enjoyed most of the Korean cuisine and discovered that the Korean people have developed a real gift of hospitality. The Asian culture could certainly teach the west a few things about both hospitality and respect. What a wonderful experience - I would go again in a heartbeat.

March 27th, 2007 at 11:16 amPersonally, I am enjoying the real freedom that Jesus Christ has given to me thru Set Free Seminar. I stop taking medicine from the 1st day of Seminar (Feb. 5) and continue doing so. The symptoms of depression started to go from me. I went to my doctor last Wednesday (Feb. 21) that was the monthly appointed day. I explained her what had happened to me thru the Seminar. She was very much interested in hearing it. The Son has set me free and I am indeed set free! Thank you for your prayer and love!
