Gord Whyte
August, 2007 Vision
I was taken up in the spirit and found myself standing with two men – one was a well known Canadian evangelist, (Todd Bentley) and the other a close friend of mine, Doug. Both men had a healing anointing. In front of us was a wall about 6 feet high. On the other side of the wall there was a glow of light, getting stronger and stronger. Suddenly, all along the top of the wall there appeared what looked like white hot lava, erupting up and over the wall and onto us.
Todd shot up both his arms in prayer and his arms were immediately on fire although not consumed by the fire. At the same time, I cried out to the Lord and my whole body was instantly on fire, but not consumed by the fire. I crawled up on top of the wall, wanting more of this fire. I looked down from the wall and saw both Todd and Doug on fire, but not being consumed, Todd flat on his face and Doug in a fetal position. All three of us were crying out with repentance to the Lord.
The fire around me got hotter, as if in a blast furnace, and all I could hear was the roar of the fire, and yet I was not being burned up. Suddenly the fire stopped, and we found ourselves on all fours, in shock that we didn’t die in the presence of the fire. We cautiously looked at each other, with a quiet and nervous laugh, not really believing that we had been spared.
I asked the Lord for the meaning of this supernatural experience and heard this:
I believe He is coming with a visitation, and if we are willing to fully embrace His coming in this way, He will inhabit our gatherings. I feel the Lord is coming upon his people with the fire of repentance and with great signs and wonders following. Do not be afraid of the purifying fire – it is a gift from the Lord – receive it. Holiness is not a legalistic state of being, but rather Holiness is all that the Lord can embrace when He manifests with this greater expression of His presence.
Matt 3:11-12
11 “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come One who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. 12 His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” NIV
