On January 5th, 2009 I left for South Korea. My first stop was a brief one – an evening meeting in the city of Daejeon, the capital city of Chungcheongnamdo Province in the centre of South Korea. The next morning we left for Chungju travelling a few hours south, to a large Presbyterian Church, where we held three powerful night meetings. The familiar themes of Intimacy with God and Divine healing were very well received and Holy Spirit moved powerfully throughout the gatherings, bringing repentance, tears of joy, laughter, and over 100 physical healings.
From there we traveled a few hours further south to the city of Dae-goo, for 3 more days of meetings in a large Methodist Church. Once again the people were eager and thirsty for more of Jesus. Each night attendance grew to standing room only as the Lord poured out His power to heal. The hosting pastors were very hospitable and gracious as they witnessed Holy Spirit outpouring in a manner they had not experienced before. At first they were reluctant to minister in this environment, but as they became more comfortable, they jumped in, helping us pray for hundreds of people.
Is any one of you in trouble? He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise. Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:13-16
People began to line up to testify to receiving miracles and healings and this continued for over two hours! Each night concluded with signs and wonders including gold dust sprinkled on faces and hands, gol
d fillings and caps and fragrant oil appearing on the hands of many. The tangible awe of God’s grace was thick in the air. What a memorable night!
I left the next day for home, driving from Dae-goo to board the Fast Train which had us back in Seoul in less than four hours. From there I transferred to the Limousine bus which had me to Incheon airport where I boarded the plane three hours later. Kelowna flight schedules can be unpredictable in January and I had the feeling that this trip might take longer than anticipated.
Arriving in Vancouver after a twelve hour flight, I knew from the chaos there that I wasn’t going any further until at least the next day. After waiting eighteen hours for a flight, I decided that the Greyhound bus was a better option and arrived home in Kelowna eight hours later. Exhausted, but full of faith and gratitude.
